Through the years of being married to Tom/Scott Zeigler, he has told me many stories of his past, most were not good AT ALL. But, he did tell me time and time again about how he would go to his FRIENDS houses for the holidays because his family were not there for him. He is a child of divorced and vengeful parents, who treated him with distain. So, knowing he would not get the love and compassion of his “family” during the holidays, his friends from school and teams would invite him to their houses. He felt welcomed and cherished at each home.
As I have grown in my walk with Jesus Christ I have been driven to help the needy and less fortunate this year for the holidays. I know this is not just a one time deal either. We will be helping out a friends shelter named, Fishes and Loaves, who take care of women and children who are in need of temporary housing and food for a limited time. We will be distributing FULL THANKSGIVING meals to 200 families that qualify in their program and Tom/Scott will be playing Santa for their shelter and extended families in December. I am very honored to be part of this and putting smiles on their faces.
With all this being said,….this Thanksgiving, Tom, myself and our children will open our Log Home to our friends/clients/neighbors/etc who have similar situations as Tom did growing up. Needing a place to go to for Thanksgiving and feeling welcomed. This is something that I have never done before, but God has put it on my heart to offer it to the ones who truly need it. Just like my husband, Tom.
We hope each person who reads this, feels a pull to help the less fortunate and extend their hand in some way. You never know, God puts Angels on our planet to test us and the person whom you help, may be YOUR TEST.
Have a Blessed Day
